Blahtech Settings

Blahtech Settings

Every Blahtech indicator on a chart shares one dialog panel, and the cog button on its tab strip opens the Settings panel - the chart-wide configuration shared by all Blahtech indicators. Settings are split into two tabs: Global values apply to every chart, while the Chart tab lets any setting be overridden on the current chart only. Themes, hot-keys, alerts delivery and the broker GMT offset all live here.

Feature Highlights

Using the Settings Panel

Click the cog on the Blahtech panel’s tab strip to enter settings mode, and again to return to the indicators. Two sub-tabs select the scope:

Settings panel Settings panel

Changed values are highlighted with a tint - on the Chart tab the tint means ā€œthis chart carries an overrideā€, on the Global tab it means ā€œthis differs from the factory defaultā€. Every control has an invisible reset hotspot just to its left - click it to remove the override (Chart tab) or restore the factory default (Global tab).

Settings are saved automatically - the Global values once per machine and the chart overrides alongside the workspace.

Buttons

Reset

On the Chart tab, clears every override on this chart so it follows Global again. On the Global tab (after a confirmation), restores ALL global settings to their factory defaults - this affects every chart

Undo / Redo

Step back and forth through your recent parameter and chart-override edits on this chart - the headline case is ā€œundo my Resetā€, where one click restores every value the Reset cleared. Global edits are not tracked, and the history is cleared by an F5 refresh

Alerts / Send Test

Fires a test through every alert channel - a log alert with sound, an email and a notification - so delivery can be verified without waiting for a live trigger. See the Blahtech Alerts Setup guide for configuring the channels

Settings

Both tabs show the same rows; the Chart tab edits this chart’s override, the Global tab edits the shared value.

Write Diff Set Files

Write a text report beside each saved parameter file listing every parameter that differs from its default. Useful when working with support

Show Dialog Hotkey Hints

Show the assigned hot-key beside controls in the indicator dialogs (default on)

Show Temp Debug Controls

Show extra diagnostic controls in the dialogs. Leave off unless support asks

Hide Candles

Hide the chart candles, leaving just the indicator drawings.

Hot-key: 4

Pop Lines

Draw the indicator lines and text above the chart candles instead of behind them.

Hot-key: 5

Comma separated list setting the order of the summary panels beside the dialog, nearest first (default ā€œMP,GL,SD,DRā€)

Shared Hot Key Map

Reassign the chart-wide hot-keys (see the Hot Keys section below). Position defines the function; set a space to disable a slot

Gmt Offset Units

Units for the Gmt Offset Value

  1. 1s - seconds

  2. 1M - minutes

  3. 1H - hours (default)

Gmt Offset Value

Offset applied to the intraday session times, in the units above. Set this if your broker clock does not match your expectations for the session times

Gmt Exclude Timeframes

Bar timeframes at or above this are not shifted by the GMT offset (shifting a daily bar’s time-of-day would only move its day boundary)

  1. D1+ (default)

  2. W1+

  3. MN1+

  4. None - every timeframe is shifted

Panel Theme

A Light and Dark colour picker per role for the Blahtech summary panels. Which set is in use follows the Panel Colour Mode above (an indicator whose own Colour Mode parameter is forced Light or Dark uses that instead). Like every other row, edits on the Chart tab restyle this chart only

Backtest

Face of the Backtest button while the chart is pinned to a backtest date, and of the iconise button when the panel is collapsed. Its own colour because a pinned chart is frozen in the past, and that is worth noticing

Hot Keys

Shared across all Blahtech indicators on the chart and reassignable via the Shared Hot Key Map setting - the position in the map defines the function, and a space disables that slot

` - Iconise / restore the panel

c - Clear Display (Shift = active tab only)

r - Reset (Shift = active tab only)

b - Backtest

h - Next tab (Shift = previous)

4 - Hide Candles

5 - Pop Lines

The per-indicator hot-keys (line toggles, zone displays and so on) are listed in each indicator’s own manual and reassigned with the indicator’s Hot Keys Map parameter.
